Berken in het gelid.
Wandelend door het bos kwam ik deze schitterende berken tegen. Samen stram, stam naast stam de regen en de wind trotserend staan ze mooi in het gelid als een compagnie soldaten. Wachtend op de zoveelste herfststorm en wetend dat ze samen de elementen van de natuur kunnen weerstaan. Vooraan de sterke en in het midden de kleintjes. Door je oogharen kijken zie je letterlijk door de bomen het eigenlijke bos niet meer. Toevlucht voor vogels en kleine knaagdieren, prachtig passend op de helling waar ze samen op staan. Together still standing strong.

Birches in line.
Walking through the forest I came across these beautiful birches. Stiff together, trunk by trunk, braving the rain and the wind, they stand in a beautiful line like a company of soldiers. Waiting for the umpteenth autumn storm and knowing that together they can resist the elements of nature. The strong are in front and the small are in the middle. Looking through the hairs of your eyes, you literally cannot see the forest for the trees. A refuge for birds and small rodents, beautifully fitting the slope they are standing on together. Together still standing strong.
