Toen Hotel van der Valk in Heerlen haar kamers ging renoveren heeft het team dat verantwoordelijk was voor interieur en styling gekozen voor een andere aanpak. De visual als basis voor de aankleding van de kamer. Door de kleuren uit deze afbeelding te gebruiken in de aankleding van de kamers kwam het geheel al snel in balans. Alles werd nu een dynamisch geheel. Uitgegaan ben ik van een mix van natuurlijke structuren, samengebracht in een palet waar je niet op uitgekeken raakt. Je ziet steeds weer iets nieuws en dat blijft verrassend. De keuze voor de havik met zijn scherpe oog en het onschuldige konijn zijn louter toeval.

When Hotel van der Valk in Heerlen renovated its rooms, the team responsible for the interior and styling opted for a different approach. The visual was used as the basis for the decoration of the rooms. By using the colours from this visual in the decoration of the rooms, the whole thing quickly became balanced. Everything became a dynamic whole. I started out from a mix of natural structures, brought together in a palette that you can’t get enough of. You keep seeing something new and that keeps surprising. The choice of the hawk with its sharp eye and the innocent rabbit is purely coincidental.
