De Rotterdamse kubuswoning is al bijna 40 jaar een architectonisch fenomeen. Als je er tegen aan kijkt, vraag je je af of hierin wel gewoond kan worden. Dat is zeer persoonlijk. Je moet eerst het gevoel krijgen dat je bijvoorbeeld hebt bij een goedzittende jas: het thuisgevoel. Je moet in ieder geval de ongewone vormen voor lief nemen en dan creatief te keer gaan. Je kunt het laten doen (kostbaar), maar zelf doen geeft veel meer voldoening en verbondenheid met het huis. Doordat aanpassingsvermogen en creativiteit wordt gevergd en de woning drie lagen heeft, is de kubuswoning eerder geschikt als starterswoning dan als seniorenwoning.Hoewel al dat trappenlopen je wel fit houdt. De locatie is fantastisch. Centrum-oost met Station Blaak, de Markthal en weekmarkt, de Centrale Bibliotheek, en de Oude Haven in de directe omgeving. Dat Rotterdam als architectuurstad internationaal bekend is geworden is mede te danken aan het expliciete voorkomen van de kubuswoning.
