Dit beeld is een eerbetoon aan een van de mooiste ambachten die ik ken. Glasblazen. En dan vooral de Italiaanse manier. Ik ben altijd gefascineerd geweest door vuur, zand en de kunst om vormen in korte tijd te combineren. Vormen uit de architectuur komen vaak terug in glasmodellen en ik heb deze prachtige combinatie samengevat in deze visual. Op de achtergrond zie je de façade van de kathedraal van Florence, omgeven door spatten vuur en fijngeslepen facetten in een prachtig vormgegeven glazen bokaal.

This visual is a tribute to one of the most beautiful crafts I know. Glassblowing. And especially the Italian way. I have always been fascinated by fire, sand and the art of combining shapes in a short period of time. Shapes from architecture often appear in glass models and I have summarised this wonderful combination in this visual. In the background, you can see the façade of the Florence cathedral surrounded by splashes of fire and finely cut facets in a beautifully designed glass goblet.
